Present and Past (Armin Arlert//Attack on Titan)

Armin Arlert - Attack on Titan

I wanted to draw something to represent the contrast between Armin's childhood dreams and expectations and his current reality. I think he is a underrated character, often misunderstood by the fandom for being an exact portrait of an human being (a imperfect person who have fears, dream, make mistakes and has internal conflicts). His life is an ironic tragedy. It's beautifully ironic how everything happening now in the shows story it's the complete opposite of what he wished, dreamed and expected for.

So this piece represents his past and present. Young and current Armin, both affected by the reality in which they live. His young version (the one full of dreams and hope) is dead, and his older version (the one facing reality) is there standing over his past, while being hold by the power he was forced to accept, and injured by the reality that has already killed his dreams and expectations.
